Appeal Status – Mr S Ruse, Mr B Thompson

Mr Stuart Ruse

Registered owner Mr Stuart Ruse lodged an appeal against penalty after being found guilty by the Stewards under AR175A & AR175(g), regarding the naming of the 2015 filly Benfica x Loose ‘N’ Lovely as Andiamo Fica.

On 13 September 2018, Mr Ruse was disqualified by Racing NSW Stewards for a total of 18 months, from 13 September 2018 to 13 March 2020.

Mr Ruse’s appeal was set to be heard Friday 9 November 2018.

On application of the appellant, the Appeal Panel agreed with a request to withdraw the appeal and gave the following orders:

  1. Leave granted to the appellant to withdraw his appeal.
  2. Appeal deposit forfeited.

 

Mr Brett Thompson

Licensed Trainer Mr Brett Thompson lodged an appeal against conviction and penalty after being found guilty by the Stewards under AR178 & AR178F(1) regarding the analyst’s findings relative to a urine sample obtained from Morotai following the gelding’s first placing in the Maiden Plate, 1100m at the Forbes Jockey Club race meeting held at Forbes Racecourse on Monday, 6th August 2018.

On 9 October 2018, Mr Thompson was fined a total of $6,400 for the two offences.

Mr Thompson’s appeal was set to be heard Friday 9 November 2018.

On application of the Appellant, which was not opposed by the Stewards, the Appeal Panel Principal Member has deferred the hearing to Friday 7 December 2018, commencing at 10.00am at the offices of Racing NSW.
