Joanne Hardy
Licensed trainer Joanne Hardy lodged an appeal against penalty after being found guilty by Racing NSW Stewards under AR178. Following a Stewards inquiry on Tuesday, 23 January 2018, Ms Hardy was fined $4000.

This followed the detection of a prohibited substance in a pre-race sample from D’great Beauty after that horse placed 4th in Race 2 (Maiden Plate, 1315m) at Coffs Harbour Racecourse on Tuesday, 7 October 2017.

This appeal was heard on Thursday 15, February 2018 at the offices of Racing NSW commencing at 12pm.

The Appeal Panel gave the following orders:-

1. Appeal against severity of penalty allowed
2. Penalty of a fine of $4000 set aside, and in lieu thereof a penalty of a $1000 fine is imposed
3. Appeal deposit to be refunded
