Albury Interstate Steward Extracts (Friday)

Race 1: Dash of the Dart (Towong 11/3/17) - Rider reported that in his opinion the gelding was not suited by today’s Good 3 track conditions.

Race 4: Unique Assassin (Stony Creek 12/3/17) - Underwent a veterinary examination on arrival on course after racing at Pakenham (9/3/17) and passed suitable to race. Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raindrops on Roses (Pakenham) - Held up for a clear run between the 600 metres until near the 350 metres. Platypus Duck (Warrnambool 23/2/17) - Stood flat footed and missed the start (3L). I Carus (Seymour 9/3/17) - Rider was severely reprimanded for failing to ride his mount out fully to the end of the race. Stewards were of the opinion that the rider’s actions did not affect the placings. Creightons Creek (Alexandra 4/3/17) - Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages.

Race 6: Extra Zero (Wangaratta 5/3/17) -Held up for clear running from near the 400m until near the 300m. Bold Sniper (Wangaratta 5/3/17) - Over-raced in the early stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear running rounding the home turn. Held up for clear running in the home straight before obtaining a clear run passing the 200m. Red Alto (Flemington 11/3/17) - Began awkwardly. Steadied at the 1400m to avoid the heels of a runner. Rider could offer no explanation for the performance which was below market expectations. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Race 7: Fox Hall (Sandown-Hillside 15/3/17) - Began awkwardly, Performed below market expectations; rider stated that the gelding settled one pair further back than anticipated as it was stepping up to the 1600m, second up from a spell, and he did not want to pressure his mount to hold a position. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a throat abnormality and a veterinary clearance is required prior to racing again. Veterinary clearance and scope since received. Callisto Moon (Caulfield 25/2/17) - Checked approaching the 1200m when tightened for room.
