Newcastle's International Women's Day Event This Friday (6 March)

Coinciding with the Newmarket race meeting, the sold-out International Women's Day (IWD) event on Friday (6 March) at Newcastle Racecourse will raise money for local charity Got Your Back Sista and has again been embraced as the perfect occasion to celebrate with clients, colleagues and champagne and listen to inspirational stories of achievement from the Head of Aboriginal Affairs, Lil Gordon and Australian Paralympian, Christie Dawes.

The theme for the 2020 International Women's Day is #EachforEqual – an equal world is an enabled world and together we can choose to create a gender-equal world. This year’s theme encourages us to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women’s achievements.

“Our Club is proud to facilitate significant financial support for the wonderful work of Got Your Back Sista with this major event on Suez Newcastle Newmarket race day,” said NJC's Chief Executive, Matt Benson.

“It’s fantastic to see key local businesses supporting the event including Westfield Kotara, Australian Business Lawyers & Advisors, Prosperity Advisers, performHR, peoplefusion, Robinson Realty, Matthews Jewellers and Capture Imaging Photography."

Once again sponsored by Moet and Chandon, the IWD Marquee luncheon will be held trackside and has Newcastle's premier autumn race – the Newmarket, as the perfect backdrop for celebrating International Women's Day.

With prominent MC NBN Newsreader Natasha Beyersdorf, the event hopes to top last year’s donation of $20,000 raised on the day for Got Your Back Sista and promises to be a fun-filled afternoon trackside at Newcastle Racecourse. Details at - newcastleracecourse.com.au
