Withdrawal Of Appeal – Licensed Apprentice Jockey Jackson Murphy

Licensed apprentice jockey Jackson Murphy had lodged an appeal against penalty after being found guilty by Racing NSW Stewards under AR137(a) after his ride on Phoenix Global in Race 7 (Any Entertainment Class 1 Handicap, 1200m) at Coffs Harbour Racecourse on Thursday, 27 December 2018.

This Appeal was set to be heard by the Racing NSW Appeal Panel on Tuesday, 8 January 2019.

After receiving application to withdraw on 3 January 2019, the Appeal Panel's principal member, Mr Richard Beasley SC, has made the following orders:

  1. Leave granted to the appellant Jackson Murphy to withdraw his appeal.
  2. Appeal deposit forfeited.

Mr Murphy’s suspension issued by Racing NSW Stewards stands - for a period commencing Sunday, 6 January 2019 and to expire on Monday, 14 January 2019 on which day he may ride.
