Injured Rider Update - Kristen Smart (Kembla, Tues)

Please note jockey Kristen Smart was dislodged during trackwork at Kembla Grange this morning (Tuesday 21st April). Kristen is suffering from soreness to her back and will be transported to Wollongong Hospital for further examination.

[Update at 8:30pm on Tuesday 21st April]: Dr Duckworth reports that Kristen Smart is fine. Her spinal fracture is stable and doesn't require surgery. She is staying overnight for observation.

[Update at 2pm on Tuesday 21st April]: Kristen has had a CT scan and sustained fractured vertebrae of her T11 and T12. She is currently waiting for a surgeon to determine if she will require surgery.
