Injured Rider Update - Brenton Avdulla (Randwick, Sat)

Jockey Brenton Avdulla was dislodged from his mount which fell over the concluding stages of Race 6 at Randwick today.

Brenton was unconscious after the fall and has since regained consciousness.

He has been transported to St Vincent's Hospital with a concussion and no other injuries apparent.

[Update at 4pm Sunday]: Brenton is stable and staying in hospital for another night. He is still sleeping a lot after his concussion. Hopefully Brenton will be discharged home tomorrow.

[Update at 7.45pm Saturday]: Brenton has an undisplaced fracture of his C7 vertebra that is stable and a small bleed on his brain.

He will be admitted to St Vincent's overnight for observations and hopefully discharged tomorrow.
