Injured Rider Update - Andrew Gibbons (Newcastle Sat)
Jockey Andrew Gibbons was dislodged from his mount at the 800 metres in race 2 at Newcastle on Saturday (10th July).
Andrew was transported to John Hunter Hospital and is awaiting the results of scans. At this stage, he has pain in the sternum and his knee.
[Update at 8pm on Saturday]: Andrew has a fractured sternum and patella. He has been admitted overnight at John Hunter for observation.
