Injured Jockey Update - Adrian Layt (Newcastle, Sat 5th Oct)

Jockey Adrian Layt was dislodged from his mount in Race 8 at Newcastle on Saturday, 5th October 2019. Adrian is now out of John Hunter Hospital and is at home.

Racing NSW's Dr Duckworth saw Adrian and said he has a large hematoma around his buttock region and also has extensive bruising to his right abdominal side and undisplaced fractures of his L4 and L5 transverse processes.

Adrian said: "My kidneys are all clear but have some fractures to a couple of vertebrae that were discovered which apparently aren't the first time I've done this."

The injuries are expected to take between four to six weeks to heal.
