Amy McLucas Wins Her First Rising Star Series Heat At Gosford

Amy McLucas landed her first Rising Star Apprentice Series victory after taking out Heat 5 at Gosford races on Wednesday.

McLucas greeted the judge aboard the well-tried Shaka Rock ($2.70 into $2.30 favourite) for trainer Theresa Bateup.

The gelding held on to win by half a neck from Tyler Schiller on Oakfield Warpaint ($13) and Reece Jones on Lady Superspy ($3.10).

The victory has secured equal third position on the overall points ladder for McLucas (8 points) behind Series leader Shayleigh Ingelse (15 points).

The next heat (Heat 6) will be run at Coffs Harbour on Thursday 1st December.
