Newcastle Racecourse Announces Equimillion Sponsorship Recipients

Newcastle Racecourse has announced four sponsorship recipients for the upcoming Racing NSW & Equestrian Australia 2024 Equimillion Competition.

In July this year, Newcastle Racecourse called on applications from suitable riders to be sponsored to participate in the competition set to take place across the October long weekend at Sydney International Equestrian Centre.

Newcastle Racecourse are pleased to announce the details of the four riders and their horses chosen to be sponsored participating in the event:

Mandy Hamilton and Toprank
Orla Sheridan and Sweeping Brook
Rebecca Dunn and Iama Princess
Jessica Martin and Major Murphy

There are four disciplines riders and horses can participate in throughout this year’s Equimillion Equestrian Competition; Dressage, Eventing, Showjumping and Show Horse.

Over $1 million in prizemoney will be distributed across the disciplines and awarded to Junior, Amateur and Open Professional Competitors within each division throughout the event.

Mandy Hamilton, who works for Kris Lees Racing, will participate in the dressage during the event.

Jess Martin will participate in Amateur Dressage on her horse Major Murphy, a horse that previously was in racing and won a race at Newcastle Racecourse.

Orla Sheridan and her horse Sweeping Brook will participate in the Amateur Eventing, while Rebecca Dunn will participate in Amateur Show horse.

Newcastle Racecourse wish all four of our riders the best of luck in their events throughout the Equimillion Equestrian Competition.
