Gosford Announces Three-Rider Sponsorships For Equimillion

Gosford Race Club is thrilled to announce our three sponsored riders for this year’s Equimillion competition!

The event, hosted by Racing NSW & Equestrian Australia, highlights the versatility and post-racing potential of Thoroughbreds, and we are proud to support these talented athletes as they showcase their skills.

The three winners of Gosford Race Club's sponsorships were selected based on a thorough evaluation by club representatives.

To be eligible, applicants needed to meet specific criteria, including having worked or ridden trackwork for a registered Gosford trainer in the last 12 months or competing with a Thoroughbred racehorse that had raced or trained at Gosford in the past five years.

After reviewing the submissions, the most qualified riders were chosen for their commitment and connection to the Gosford racing community.

Gosford Race Club is pleased to announce the details of the three riders and their horses for the partipcating even will be sponsoring are:

Bryia Anderson with her horse, Sichuan Chief (Sushi). Bryia, an experienced rider with a background in showjumping, has formed a remarkable bond with Sushi since purchasing him from Racing NSW three years ago. After overcoming a 10-year break from riding due to a severe injury, Bryia who rides trackwork at Gosford has returned to the sport stronger than ever. We are honored to support her and Sushi in this year’s competition.

Isabella MacDonald with her horse, Timeless Prince (stable name Bob). Timeless Prince is a black type winner and was trained at Gosford by Tony Newing the gelding won/places 29 times from 71 starts and amassed over $550k of prizemoney. Isabella and Bob have built a strong partnership over the past year, making incredible progress in both jumping and eventing. Competing together at Equimillion will be a milestone for this dynamic duo, and we are excited to see what they accomplish.

Sienna Ramsay with her horse, Bodhi. Bodhi, a former Hong Kong racehorse, has shown great potential in eventing. Sienna whom rides trackwork at Gosford describes him as a bold and brave horse, and together they are ready to take on the challenge at Equimillion. We are proud to support Sienna and Bodhi as they continue their promising journey.

Equimillion 2024 will be held at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre from October 4th to October 7th, with competitions across dressage, showjumping, eventing, and show-horse categories.

This event provides a fantastic platform to celebrate the talents of retired Thoroughbreds and their riders, and we are proud to continue our support through this sponsorship.

Gosford Race Club’s sponsorship will cover each rider’s nomination and competition fees, with the aim of fostering their success and furthering the versatility of Thoroughbred horses beyond their racing careers.

We extend our congratulations to Isabella, Sienna, and Bryia, and wish them the best of luck at Equimillion 2024! Stay tuned for updates as we follow their progress throughout the competition.
