International Skilled Employee Liaison Officer - Racing NSW

About Us
Racing NSW is the peak body for Thoroughbred horse racing in New South Wales. We are committed to supporting all members of our racing community, including our valued international workers who play a crucial role in our industry.

The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive International Employee Liaison Officer to act as the primary point of contact and support for our recruited International employees (predominately from the Philippines and Turkey) during their tenure in Australia.

This is a vital role focused on ensuring worker well-being, smooth integration into Australian life and work culture, and compliance with all visa and employment requirements.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Liaison & Support: Act as the dedicated liaison officer, providing day-to-day general support to each international employee, including assisting with accommodation or location changes where required.

Coaching & Mentoring: Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to help workers adapt to the Australian lifestyle and local racing standards and expectations.

Compliance & Administration
o Ensure all Visa Training Logbooks are accurately completed and maintained for each worker, in compliance with visa requirements.
o Coordinate the regular submission of completed logbooks to management for Home Affairs compliance.

Performance & Feedback: Liaise regularly with Race Club managers and/or racehorse trainers to gather feedback on worker performance.

Timesheet Management & Auditing
o Request and review timesheets fortnightly, ensuring they are completed correctly and verified/signed off by relevant officials or employers.
o Conduct regular sample audits by cross-checking claimed hours with employers.

Scheduling & Reporting: Submit weekly schedules in advance, detailing frequent visits to all International employees, and maintain clear communication with your supervisor.

About You
• Demonstrated racing industry experienced as a jockey, trackwork rider and stablehand.
• Fluent in Tagalog and English is highly desirable.
• Experience in a cross-cultural support role is essential.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient and supportive demeanour.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance.
• Ability to work independently, manage your own schedule, and travel frequently across NSW.
• A valid driver's license and a commitment to maintaining a company vehicle are required.
