Wyong Race Club has been at the heart of the local community since 1875.
Hosting 22 annual race meetings along with a number of other private and corporate events throughout the year, we are a truly diverse and dynamic place to work.

Requirements

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead Wyong Race Club through the next level of growth and beyond.

The successful candidate for this role should possess excellent communication skills, superior knowledge of business functions, exceptional budgeting and finance skills and strong leadership qualities.

The role incorporates responsibilities across all aspects of the Club’s day-to-day operations including:

  • Risk & Financial management
  • Staff management
  • Legal and safety compliance
  • Strategic Planning and Masterplan implementation
  • Facilities management and capital works
  • Racing and training
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Sales, marketing and business development
  • Function and event management

About you

We are seeking a candidate who has:

  • 5+ years experience in a general manager or similar role
  • Experience leading and managing teams
  • Financial acumen and budget management experience

Highly desirable but not essential:

  • Tertiary business management or facilities management qualification
  • Previous experience within the hospitality or events industry
  • Project & development management experience
  • Knowledge of the Thoroughbred Racing industry
