Fallen Jockey - Mikayla Weir

Apprentice jockey Mikayla Weir has been dislodged from her mount (Anarchy Rock) while returning to scale following R6 at Gunnedah today. 

She suffered a knock to the head when she hit the ground and is being transported to Gunnedah hospital for further assessment.

Update 10pm Tuesday 16th January - Dr. Duckworth reports that Mikayla Weir had a brain CT scan that showed some brain bruising. She will be admitted at Tamworth Hospital overnight for observation.

Mikayla probably won’t ride for another 7 to 10 days.
