Vale Mr Richard Bourke (Dubbo)

Racing NSW has been informed of the passing of Mr Richard Bourke, better known as 'Dick of Dubbo', who was a racehorse trainer for 30 years in Dubbo.

Mr Bourke, 81, trained many talented horses including Retreat's Girl (seven wins), Chabassco Lass, Nelara and Snowtown, however, his best performer was the mare Soncerie who won nine races (and eight placings) from 28 starts.

A funeral service will be held for Mr Bourke on Thursday (9th May) from 1pm at St. Brigid's Catholic Church, 198 Brisbane St, Dubbo with a wake to follow.
