Vale Mr Pat Berry

Racing NSW has been informed of the sudden passing of Mr Pat Berry, 76.

Mr Berry commenced his job as a Cadet Steward with Ralph Newell at Port Macquarie before eventually being appointed Chairman of Stewards at Dubbo.

Pat then went overseas where he was Chairman of Stewards at Macau, and on his return to Australia, owned several horses.

Former Sydney Steward, Brian Killian, said: "Pat was a very good Steward and was well-known throughout the industry.

"Pat worked with me many times during the Kempsey Cup meeting and was related to the Berry family of dad, John, and his son Tommy."
