Racing NSW has been informed that Shoalhaven City Turf Club's long serving Assistant Groundsman, Mr Graham Smith, passed away unexpectedly on Friday (5th September).
Graham, 50, suffered a massive heart attack at home and despite the best efforts of family and medical staff he could not be revived.

"Graham Smith had been with the Club for well over 20 years and was well liked by all that knew him, including our staff, board members and local trainers," said Paul Weekes, CEO of SCTC.
"We are a tight knit group here at the Club and Graham was family to us all.
"Like his family, we are all devastated and we will be doing everything we can to help out at this time.
"Graham was a proud indigenous man but he was also very proud of the Club and his work ethic was second-to-none.
"No job was ever too much for him and he was happy to sit on a mower for hours, or ply his wares on the whipper snipper.
"During periods where the Club was without a Track Manager, Graham always stepped up to take on this role ensuring that track and facility preparation were undertaken to the highest of standards.
"We continue to be in touch with those closest to Graham including his partner Karina and best friend Glenn. Understandably, they are shattered and are struggling.
"We will continue to liaise with them to provide all the assistance we can."
