Vale Mr Archie Turner (Funeral Service Details)

Racing NSW is saddened to be informed of the passing of Mr Archie Turner who has died aged 92.

Archie was a leading trainer in the Queanbeyan/Canberra region for many years and prepared some good horses that won races in the city as well as the country areas.

A QRacing Hall of Famer, Archie Turner is the only trainer in 77 years to have captured three successive Queanbeyan Cups, having won the race with Willett from 1972-74.

Archie's last winner was Noble Al who won 11 races. He had been in a retirement home with his partner at Batemans Bay.

Archie was husband of Thora (dec) and partner of Joan, and loved father of Colleen, Beverley and Stephen; and grandfather to Daniel, Emma, Thomas, Raegan and Jessie.

The funeral service for Archie will be held at Norwood Park Crematorium, Sandford Street Mitchell on Thursday, 7th December commencing at 1:30pm.
