Two Big Days For Bega Cheese Bega Cup Carnival

A massive $420,000 in prizemoney is on offer during a huge weekend of quality racing this Saturday (2nd February) and Sunday (3rd February) at Sapphire Coast.

With 15 races over two days, the highlights are the $50,000 Bega Cheese Bega Cup and $40,000 Momsen Motors Sprint.

Bega Cup weekend Ambassador Greg Hall, Melbourne Cup-winning rider of Subzero, will be attending and hosting the Bega Cup Calcutta on Saturday starting at 7pm at Club Sapphire.

Gates open at midday both days, with free buses to and from the track. Times and locations are on - Sapphire Coast Turf Club

Entry for under 18s is free, with a free jumping castle for the kids, masses of entertainment, grazing boxes, oyster bar, slime station, kids activities and the biggest Fashions on the Field all year.

"The Merimbula Wharf Dinner tonight will feature fun-filled yarns from Greg Hall and he is also our special guest on both racedays," said Rob Tweedie, GM-Sapphire Coast Turf Club.

"On Saturday night we have the big Bega Cup Calcutta at Club Sapphire, again with Greg Hall. The draw starts at 8pm with tickets sold on the night."
