Silent Auction To Aid Lismore's Injured Scott Jones

Hunter & North West Racing Association clubs Scone, Muswellbrook, Moree and Tamworth have furnished Cup day packages in support of badly injured and recuperating Lismore Turf Club chief executive officer, Scott Jones.

The four clubs had donated packages on their upcoming Cup meetings for a special charity luncheon at Lismore this Sunday, however, that luncheon and fundraiser had to be cancelled due to lack of support.

Helen Sinclair, a former CEO at Scone and Tamworth, had been helping the LTC formulate the charity luncheon which would have also included a unique Calcutta on Sunday’s Country Championships Qualifier at Scone.

Packages to the Country Championships Final at Randwick, Caloundra Cup day at the Sunshine Coast, Taree Cup day and a two-night stay at the Peninsular (Mooloolaba) were also donated.

“We have put together a list of generous raceday packages and are offering them under silent auction conditions,” Helen Sinclair advised. “They are very generous and cover a range of meetings, especially the Country Championships Final at Randwick.”

The seven items are offered under the silent auction system with bids to be submitted by phone or text message to Helen Sinclair (0418 201 832). Bidding closes at 10am on Monday, April 2.

“Highest bidder will be notified by phone at close of bidding at which time payment by credit card will be required,” Helen Sinclair said.”

The Country Championship Final package is valued at $1500 and includes one night’s accommodation at the five-star Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney plus two tickets in the Ballroom at Randwick for an extravagant buffet lunch and beverage package for two. It is donated by Racing NSW and the Australian Turf Club.
