Scone To Host Racing Mates Morning Tea Get-together (Saturday)

Racing industry participants in the Hunter region are invited to attend the next Racing Mates Morning Tea 'Get-together', which will be held at Scone Race Club this Saturday, 26th October 2019.

Racing Mates is a peer support initiative that was established by Racing NSW in 2016, empowering mates to look out for mates.

"We've run many of these morning tea get-togethers previously, and it is a great opportunity for the racing community to come together for a chat," Racing Mates ambassador, Pat Webster, said.

Research has found that effective support offered from peers and colleagues can aid significantly in coping with stress and difficult situations. People are often more likely to initially reach out to a trusted peer or colleague for support when in need.

Racing Mates has appointed several Ambassadors across NSW that are available as a port of call when industry participants are in need of a mate.

"There is nothing better than talking to someone who understands where you're coming from," Webster, also an accredited Racing NSW drug and alcohol mentor, said.

"Myself, and all of our other Ambassadors are always there to have a chat when participants need to talk to someone."

The Hunter region morning tea get-together will be held on Saturday from 9am at Scone Race Club, 434 Bunnan Rd, Scone NSW 2337.

"Come and join friends and colleagues to get together and enjoy morning tea," Webster added. For further information contact Pat Webster on 0418 644 955.
