Neil Evans' Tips For Narromine (Monday)

By Neil Evans

Track Good 4 and rail out 4m from 900m to 300m and true the remainder:

Race 1 - 12:25PM WAYNE COLLISON WELL EARNED SPELL MAIDEN PLATE (800 METRES)

8. Miss Rapide is a debutant filly by speed sire Supido in the Clint Lundholm stable at Dubbo who can start her career with a bang despite drawing the outside barrier. Was good through the line in a recent trial in soft ground. 1. Brummagen is a tough improver looming to peak second-up, and has enough tactical speed to off-set the wide draw. 4. Dendina is a natural market watch resuming for only her second start off a very long break, and has trialled okay. 9. Parissident is very honest placing in three of her last four runs. 7. Miss Karis having her first run for the new Dubbo stable off a two month break; and 10. Ufana narrowly beaten in a weaker maiden when resuming; can both run into the minor money.

How to play it: Miss Rapide to win

Race 2 - 1:05PM THE COURTHOUSE HOTEL BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (800 METRES)

3. Too Darn Lovely has superior tactical speed, and will relish the drop back in trip to the flying short course. Easily beat a much better sprint field at Quirindi two starts ago before weakening late in deeper company at Muswellbrook three weeks ago. Gets the right sort of freshen-up, and draws to zoom forward and lead them a merry dance, importantly back on firmer ground. 4. Charlie Magic is a tough sprinter who resumes with no public trials, but is in a good yard and can come to hand quickly. 6. Super Sioux is also well placed fourth-up from a handy on-speed draw, and has won three from eight so far. 1. Cumboogle drops in grade and trip, but still has a task carrying a big weight with a rookie rider aboard from a wide draw. 9. Desirious bolted in over this short distance three starts back, and has been competitive enough in two runs since. 2. Joanneski has won three on the bounce from off-speed, albeit against very weak opposition; while 7. Hard Too Impress resuming with no official trials, and 8. Jo Jo Sun well into his prep, both go in all wider exotic plays.

Race 3 - 1:40PM NARROMINE HARDWARE MAIDEN HANDICAP (1100 METRES)

13. The Git Up, also accepted for the next race, is a tough mare very stiff not to have broken through already this campaign, three times in the placings from four outings. Has twice run home well in better races than this poor lineup, and sneaks a little further down in the weights. 8. Hefty Price is bursting to break through ahead of his 18th start, having placed nine times so far. Has been close-up in his last three against better opposition, gets in light after the jockey’s claim, and significantly is on a seven day back-up. 9. Bold Bender similarly is edging towards a breakthrough win deep into the prep, having placed eight times from 24 starts. 2. My Boy Scout improves sharply at his second start, with key gear changes. 3. Misrosa, a filly by Smart Missile, debuts behind a steady Dubbo trial; while 10. Tiny Missile is best the best of the rest third-up from a handy trailing draw.

How to play it: The Git Up (Hefty Price if the former doesn’t run) to win

Race 4 - 2:20PM NARROMINE USMC COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN PLATE (1300 METRES)

11. The Git Up is also accepted to run in the previous race which is a weaker affair, and does draw off the track here, although the 1300m is a more suitable distance at this stage of the campaign. Tough mare stiff not to have broken through already this campaign, three times in the placings from four outings. 8. Miss Madigan is an improving filly well placed fourth-up. Disappointed at Tamworth as a well backed favourite two starts ago, although found a very poor quality surface that day before close-up in weaker company 16 days ago. 4. Thor’s Lightning steps up to a far more suitable trip second-up after an even effort fresh at Muswellbrook over 900m. Firmer ground is a plus too. 5. Twining Class draws wide, but comes back to a thinner race fifth-up. 2. Hardhead also draws wide coming back in distance, but is fit with an each way chance; along with 3. Major Lightning who hit the line impressively second-up in a deeper maiden, but has to overcome an awkward draw on a much tighter track.

How to play it: The Git Up to win

Race 5 - 2:55PM THREE RIVERS MACHINERY CASE IH C1 & MAIDEN PLATE (1600M)

4. West Head is a progressive and tough three-year-old from a leading Dubbo stable who can go back-to-back fourth-up. Failed to handle heavy ground in tougher provincial company before reloading in a handy Super Maiden over the mile at Coonamble and charging home late to score. Draws similarly here with a significant weight drop, and can take the next step. 5. Full Commitment ran home okay first-up in a deeper BM 58, and draws to get a soft run back off the speed over a shade further. 7. Trust A Kitty hasn’t missed a place in three runs this prep, working home nicely from well off the speed, and only has to tuck in from a tricky draw to be in the finish. 10. Matildas Of Tuscany is an emerging filly who broke through in dominant fashion at her third start at Warren, but has to overcome a horror draw here on a much tighter circuit. 3. Jasper’s Way is building towards a second win in four starts after doing his best work late at Warren behind a hot favourite and dominant winner.

How to play it: West Head to win

Race 6 - 3:35PM QUBE AGRI NARROMINE BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1100 METRES)

5. Rail Trail is an improver who finds a winnable yet very open race second-up behind a five week let-up. Wasn’t suited when running home only fairly in similar company at Bathurst, and better off here settling a touch quieter in a bigger field behind a more solid tempo. 2. Midnight Dream can peak second-up despite drawing wide. 4. Champers Girl can run into the money back in grade from a better draw. 6. The Mooch is versatile and has been in and around the money all prep. 3. Pyromania is better suited here third-up off a break after a poor effort in the Gulgong Cup. 8. Dupenny drawn the inside, and 10. Mythical Moochi peaking third-up; are the best of the rest.

How to play it: Rail Trail to win

Race 7 - 4:10PM NARROMINE SHIRE COUNCIL BM66 HANDICAP (1300 METRES)

8. Kranich is a progressive four-year-old who can make it three wins from his last four starts in a very open affair. Powered home late to win two straight up to BM 58 grade before settling further back at Muswellbrook and charging home to run the winner to a long neck. Back in trip, but draws to get a softer run with a much stronger jockey taking over, and can be saved up for one giant surge from the 350m. 9. Miss Clamorosa is a promising filly and obvious threat after destroying her Class 1 opposition three weeks back, draws the inside. 2. Deion stuck on okay fourth-up in the feature and stronger Cannonball when exposed too early by the jockey. Back up sharply in weight for the drop in grade, and draws to get plenty of cover over a furlong further. 1. Starlink flashed home late at big odds when resuming in higher grade at Dubbo, but has a big weight here from a nightmare draw. 5. Divine Sinner is hard fit, and ran home okay late in that Cannonball Sprint when solid enough in the market. Keep safe 10. Rebel Dreamer back on firmer ground off a month-long freshen. 3. Zenti down in grade third-up, and 7. The Great Armada who beat all bar the winner in the Gulgong Cup; are the best of the rest.
