Weather Watch For Neasham Stable Before Final Nowra Decision (Sun)

The new association between multiple Group-winning trainer Annabel Neasham and comeback apprentice Ellen Hennessy is the big watch, with select runners at a capacity Nowra meeting on Sunday where the prerequisite is wet form on a present Heavy 10 surface.

The English trainer’s priority is bigger occasions at the Magic Millions while Hennessy is regrouping, vitally now apprenticed to the Neasham stable at Warwick Farm after a nine-week suspension for a COVID breach.

From the Gold Coast, Annabel designated the southern responsibilities to her assistant Todd Pollard.

“We’re monitoring conditions with Nowra on the worst side of heavy ten and rain as we’ve got dual acceptors at Newcastle on Monday that might be suited by better conditions - at this stage, we haven’t finalised,” Pollard explained.

“We’ve got a couple of youngsters from other stables that are showing enough at the trials to be competitive and of the exposed form, Inordinate Opinion won a Newcastle maiden well enough for Ellen but that was on firm ground, so heavy is the unknown.

“However, he’s a progressive three-year-old wherever he starts.” Inordinate Opinion has accepted for a ICU Security Camera’s BM 66 (1600m) and also at Newcastle on Monday.

Stable newcomers Fortune Harbour and Judgement Day come under notice as they both have been extensively trialled.

Judgement Day accepted at Nowra with Hennessy in the Trent Booth Plastering Maiden (1400m), the horse was originally was with Annabel’s former boss, Ciaron Maher in Melbourne.

“Really nice three-year-old, had extensive time off after being gelded, has the breeding (Not a Single Doubt), he’s forward enough off trials but is probably looking for more ground.”

Fortune Harbour, moved on after failing in one maiden start for Team Hawkes, significantly as favourite, is entered for the Domino’s Bomaderry Mdn (1100m).

“He’s a big strong Capitalist colt, needed time but shown us enough in trials to be competitive. But the unknown for all of ours is the conditions.”

At present Nowra is a Heavy 10 with some showers forecast.
