Apprentice Mikayla Weir is the new Rising Star Series leader following her win in heat 4 of the 2020/21 Series at Orange today.

Weir piloted the heavily-backed Gossip ($13 into $6.50) to victory for trainer Connie Greig to secure top points with Kath Bell-Pitomac (The Exchequer; $12) and Liam Blanch (Wiseman; $14) rounding out the placings.

Weir, notching her first Rising Star Series victory this campaign, moves to 10 points and leads the series from Louise Day (9 points), Chris Williams (8pts) and Madison Waters (7).

Heat 5 will be run at Goulburn this Friday 18th December.
