By Mark Brassel

Locally-trained galloper Dancing in the Sky has landed a rare double on his home course by taking out last Saturday's DJW & Wells Ventilation Cobar Picnic Cup (1700m).

The six-year-old was sent out the $3.50 second favourite and jockey Ricky Blewitt guided him home by just under four lengths.

They defeated the Connie Greig-trained pair of Valadyium (Leandro Ribeiro; $3.20 favourite) and Eaglesaurus (Eloise Drews, $5.50).

Back in June the gelding was a narrow winner of the Cobar Miner's Race Club Cobar Cup when ridden by Nyssa Burrells.

Dubbo trainer Connie Greig holds a strong hand for the $50,000 NSW Picnic Champion Series Final run at Coonamble on Sunday 13th October.

Seven of the top eight horses on the point score ladder are prepared by Greig.

The next picnic race meeting will be at GEURIE PICNICS on Saturday 14th September.
