Level 2 Hot Weather Policy Invoked & Monitoring Of Air Quality - Nowra (Tues)

Please be advised that as temperatures are forecast to reach 41 degrees at Nowra on Tuesday (31st December 2019), Level 2 of the Hot Weather Policy has been invoked.

As a result, pre-race parades will be shortened on the day.

Trainers are reminded that runners must be on-course at least 90 minutes prior to the advertised starting time of their respective races, as this allows sufficient time to cool the horse before the race.

It is particularly important for those horses traveling significant distances to race meetings, allowing them time to be actively cooled, if necessary, prior to racing.

Further, the air quality resulting from the bushfires is of current concern and is being continually monitored along with the forecast weather conditions in the lead up to tomorrow’s race meeting. Further updates will be provided.
