Level 2 Hot Weather Policy Invoked For Gunnedah (Monday)

Please be advised that as temperatures are forecast to reach 39 degrees at Gunnedah today, Level 2 of the Hot Weather Policy has been invoked.

As a result, pre-race parades will be shortened on the day.

Trainers are reminded that runners must be on-course at least 90 minutes prior to the advertised starting time of their respective races, as this allows sufficient time to cool the horse before the race.

It is particularly important for those horses traveling significant distances to race meetings, allowing them time to be actively cooled, if necessary, prior to racing.
