Selections based on a heavy track

5. Son Of Rubick has been placed in three of four starts and hasn’t raced since finishing last in a seven-horse race at Warwick Farm back in April. He’s performed well in a trial leading into this and should be primed to run well. 8. Howdie Do It is on debut here and won a recent Canterbury trial. He looks set to perform well. 9. Spread The Love is a stablemate of Son Of Rubick and Howdie Do It and he ran well in his only trial behind Blitzburg. 10. Classic Touch is a filly in debut and comes into this after a third in the same trial Son Of Rubick contested recently.

12. Emilia Jane won a maiden at Newcastle in September of last year. She wasn’t disgraced in four starts following that and resumes here after two solid trials. 6. King Taurus was down the track in a recent Highway at Rosehill but is capable at best and can improve on that. 5. Wal’s Angels is resuming after two solid seconds in two trials and was placed at Canberra before the spell. 4. A Book Of Days is a last start Moruya placegetter that warrants thought again on that effort.

6. Magical Moments won a super maiden at Newcastle last December then ran second at Wyong before being spelled. She’s had three starts back from a spell and ran fifth in the latest of them at this track when beaten just over two lengths. 1. Dimitrov has had two runs back from a long spell for a third at Kembla Grange and a fifth at Canterbury. He is set to peak now. 5. Socrazyinlove resumes after two trials and has the talent to show up, while 2. Omnic wasn’t far away when fifth at Gosford when resuming and warrants thought here.

How to play it: Magical Moments WIN.

6. Mamushka looked good winning her first two starts at this track and Gosford earlier in the year before a fifth at Wyong when beaten less than two lengths and then being spelled. She resumes here after two trials and is primed to sprint to sprint well fresh. 1. Atelier has won three of six starts and has had two trials to prepare for this first-up assignment. 3. Martini Mumma followed a third at Rosehill two starts ago with a last start sixth at the same track. 12. Bessie La Belle won well at Wagga when past produced and has a good overall record.

8. Call Me Magnifique was a Scone winner on debut earlier in the year and then had two more starts before being spelled. He resumed with a fifth at Kembla Grange when not beaten far and strips fitter for this. 7. Flying Argento is resuming after two trials and has shown talent as a stayer. He can sprint well fresh. 1. Samurai debuted for the new stable when sixth at this track last time out. 4. Luskaire has finished third at Wyong and then the Kensington track at his latest two starts and isn’t out of this.

How to play it: Call Me Magnifique WIN.

3. Above The Law had three trials including two recently before a solid debut second behind a handy one at Kembla Grange. This looks a nice race for him to break through in. 5. Precinct debuted with a solid fourth at Kembla Grange and can run well with a repeat of that. 11. O’Sheamus is fresh for this after recent trials and ran well behind Beadman at his only start. 1. Melodia Legend is on debut after a number of trials and bears close watching.

7. Wootton Verni is an import that was midfield in his Australian debut at Randwick earlier in the year before a fifth in The Coast at Gosford and then being spelled. He’s had two solid trials leading into this. 6. Flying Bandit has a great record and won the Wagga Cup before a midfield effort in good grade in Brisbane. He’s had a trial leading into this. 16. Yoshinobu won well at Rosehill before a disappointing last in a four-horse field last time out. He can improve here. 11. Sun ‘N’ Sand ran well in the Adrian Knox Stakes and ATC Australian Oaks last campaign and can run well here despite the wide draw.

5. Fifty Five Mustang has a solid record with three wins and five placings from 17 starts. He’s had a second on a heavy track and this race looks within his reach. 4. Taytay Bay has been racing well with a Nowra win three starts ago and a last start second at the Sapphire Coast. 6. Philadelphia Storm won at Albury three starts back and comes into this on the back of a last start second on the Wagga Riverside. 1. Dubai Centre won two on end at Moruya and Narrandera before a last start third at Moruya.
