Injured Riders Update - Spinks & Peel (Nyngan, Monday)

Allana Spinks and Wendy Peel were involved in an incident following trackwork at Nyngan this morning. The young riders were in a group leaving the track when their mounts became startled, resulting in both riders being dislodged.

Spinks, a trackwork rider for Rodney Robb, made contact with a gate. She was cleared of any injuries but has been taken to Dubbo Hospital for precautionary scans.

[Update 7pm on Monday]: Allana was discharged from Dubbo Hospital earlier today. She suffered a concussion and some bruising to her ankle but scans cleared her of any breaks or fractures. She will be stood down from duties for a week.

Peel, an apprentice jockey, landed on her tailbone. She has suffered from some discomfort but doesn’t appear to have sustained any significant injuries and will be stood down from work also as a precaution.
