Apprentice jockey Olivia Dalton was dislodged from her mount (Backhander) whilst pulling it up following the running of Race 2 at Armidale on Tuesday. Olivia is conscious but is experiencing back & shoulder pain and will be transported to hospital for further examination.

[Update on Wednesday]: Olivia was admitted to hospital overnight and has sustained fractured ribs and a distal clavicle fracture on her left side with the clavicle requiring surgery. Olivia is hopeful of being discharged today and will undergo surgery in Sydney next week.

[Update at 8pm Tuesday]: Olivia is at hospital awaiting further results but has fractured ribs and a small pneumothorax.
