Jockey Jamie Gibbons sustained an injury to his neck after being dislodged when his mount knuckled on jumping in race 6 at Mudgee on Saturday (31st March).
Update at 3:40pm on Sunday (1st April): Racing NSW's Dr Duckworth reports that injured jockey Jamie Gibbons is now at home in Bathurst, after being discharged from hospital. Jamie was admitted to Westmead Hospital overnight, not North Shore Hospital as first expected. He has had a very bad concussion and a fractured nose, and Jamie will need ongoing monitoring over the next few weeks.
Update at 9am on Sunday (1st April): Dr Duckworth reported Jamie Gibbons was transferred from Mudgee Hospital to Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney as a precaution.Jamie was a little confused and they want to do further tests on his neck and brain in Sydney.
