Injured Jockey - Akira Kajiya (Queanbeyan Tuesday)

Jockey Akira Kajiya was dislodged when his mount reared and landed on top of him at Queanbeyan (Tuesday 24th August). He was being attended to by ambulance officers with a suspected leg injury and Akira was transported to Canberra Hospital with a right leg injury.

[Update at 9:20am on Wednesday]:
Akira was admitted to Canberra Hospital overnight and has sustained a fractured ankle that does not require any surgery. He is being discharged today in a boot with crutches.
