Important Notice For Those Attending Moruya Races (Tuesday)

Please note for those participants and members of the public attending the Melbourne Cup raceday at Moruya on Tuesday 3rd November and travelling to and from the race meeting taking the route down the Clyde Mountain along the Kings Highway, traffic will be affected due to slope stablisation work being completed by the council which was caused by recent rainfall.

Traffic will be affected as follows:

1) On Tuesday 3rd November, the Kings Highway will be closed on the Clyde Mountain between 6pm and until 6am Wednesday.
2) Traffic delays of up to 15 minutes may be encountered on the mountain between 6am and 6pm Tuesday 3rd November.

Therefore, participants are advised to allow additional travelling time to attend the race meeting and we are instructed that in order to travel home up the Clyde Mountain following the race meeting, participants must be at the base of the mountain before at least 6pm (on Tuesday) to be able to proceed up the mountain.

Otherwise, for those travelling back to Canberra, an alternative route via Nerriga is likely to add a further 3 to 3½ hours to the return journey.

The final race for the meeting (race 5) is scheduled at 4:05pm.
