Second last year but one better on Friday - that's the plan for Fourcade at Moruya on Friday in the SCB Distributors Legend Of The South (1300m).
This is the third edition of the feature race which has as a bonus exemption from the ballot for the $100,000 Snake Gully Cup (1400m) at Gundagai on Friday 14 November.
It also appears to be the strongest Legend Of The South yet with a full field of 14 plus five emergencies.

Fourcade ($26 on TAB) finished second 12 months ago behind Clever Art who went onto capture the Snake Gully Cup, while in 2023 Bellestic Kids was successful before finishing second at Gundagai.
Prepared on track by Shaun Coady, Fourcade has drawn wide in gate 13 at her fourth start back this preparation.
“It’s a sticky draw, but she will push forward as that is the best option,” Coady said.
“She likes to be on pace. It’s a bigger field and a stronger race than last year.
“She had 61.5 kilograms last start and it took its toll on her then at Canterbury and was only beaten three quarters of a length.
“The run prior at Canterbury was best forgotten and she bounced back last time.”
Fourcade excels at her home track with seven top-three finishes from nine attempts and just the one win.
The seven-year-old has finished in the top-three at 14 of her 25 starts with last year’s close second in the Legend Of The South a case of unfinished business.
“I wanted to win it this year, straight after finishing second twelve months ago,” Coady said. “It’s a race that is growing and the fact you can get in to the Snake Gully Cup then the winner of that race gets in the $200,000 Community Chest at Canberra is a bonus."
Jockey Amy McLucas was aboard the seven-year-old when second last year and has also ridden her to victory at Goulburn in February of this year. Fourcade’s wins have all come with female jockeys including at her first start for Coady at the Sapphire Coast.
Alottosay ($26) is drawn directly inside Fourcade and has the track statistics to also be prominent despite the step up in grade. She is unbeaten in two starts at Moruya for trainer Brian Adams and has finished in the top-three in all of her seven starts.
The class factor belongs with Cavalier Charles ($8 into $5) who ran last in the 2024 edition of The Kosciuszko and two starts later was fourth behind Compelling Truth in the Wagga Town Plate.
The nine-year-old has also drawn a wide alley (15) and is a three-time winner when resuming.
Bon Frankie ($19) has been close-up in feature races at Moruya and is deserving of big race success. He has been placed in three of his six starts at Moruya which includes a third in the SERA Country Championships.
Trainer Scott Collings hasn’t confirmed a start for the favourite Mogo Magic ($4.40 into $3.30) after he drew wide in gate 18.
