Hawkesbury Race Club Announces Sponsored Riders In Equimillion

Brianna Jacobs and Jett Newman will be sponsored by Hawkesbury Race Club for the inaugural Racing NSW and Equestrian Australia Equimillion.

The inaugural $1m event, exclusively for retired NSW Thoroughbred horses, will be held across disciplines of eventing, jumping, dressage and show horse at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre on the October long weekend (September 30-October 2).

“Hawkesbury is pleased to sponsor Brianna and Jett to the value of $1100 each to cover their nomination ($600 plus GST) and competition ($400 plus GST) fees,” HRC chief executive James Heddo said today.

“The club was overwhelmed by the quantity of applications sent in, all of which were of a very high standard.

“There is no doubt there is great support for Off The Track thoroughbreds in the Hawkesbury region, and we wish Brianna and Jett well on their journey to the inaugural Equimillion competition, and in fact all competitors.”

Brianna Jacobs currently works for Godolphin at Agnes Banks and is in the process of completing a traineeship Cert III in Racing Stablehand with RacingNSW. She will compete as a junior in the Show Horse division.

Jett Newman rides work for Hawkesbury trainer Claire Lever, and is hopeful of becoming an apprentice jockey in the near future. She will compete as a junior in the Show Jumping division.
