The Goulburn Cup has a new date on the racing calendar - this year's Goulburn Cup (1400m) will now be run on Sunday, 25th August 2024.

Goulburn Race Club's CEO, Robyn Fife said the club is keen to embrace the change of date.

"In more recent times the [$200,000] Goulburn Cup and its support program has been held in late October or early November," Ms Fife said.

"The new date brings our feature raceday forward by two months and still provides participants with a potential qualification opportunity for the [$3 million] Big Dance held at Royal Randwick on Tuesday 5th November.

"It will also remain a Racing NSW Country Showcase program featuring the Goulburn Cup and quality support races such as the Newgate Farm The Guy Walter and The Graeme Spackman Country Magic.

"Last year's corresponding meeting offered over $460,000 in prizemoney across eight races with the Goulburn Cup previously valued at $200,000."

Nominations for this year's Goulburn Cup will close at 11am on Tuesday, 20th August 2024.
