Gilgandra Jockey Club will throw open its gates for this Saturday's (1st June) seven-race TAB race meeting.

"We will be encouraging patrons to add donations to the Central and Western Racing Charity Fund collection box," said Gilgandra Jockey Club's Anne Hall.

"And we will also have a Fashions on the Field competition, with a bar and canteen facilities operating.

"We received a massive number of acceptances (102), with emergencies in all but one of the races, so we're looking forward to a great day's racing.

"And Denis has the placing looking spick and span. 'Denis' is his nickname, but his real name is Serafin Diaz - he is one of our visiting trainees from the Philippines.

"Denis is a trackwork rider and makes up his hours by doing track maintenance."

The track is currently rated a Good 3 with the first race jumping at 12:23pm.
