ROYAL RANDWICK – BEST BET: Race 9 # 11 – TAZARAL

Won with style at this track/distance a fortnight ago when resuming and ran solid time. Further, he was run to suit but ran building closing splits, and his final few bounds had merit. The import has come in on a strong figure and has clearly returned improved for his second OZ preparation. Additionally, he has the key attributes of adaptability, acceleration and, although suited over more ground, expect him to be hard to hold out with even luck.

ROYAL RANDWICK – BEST VALUE: Race 6 # 4 – CUSTODIAN

Returned as a gelding at this track 21 days ago and was heavily backed all throughout the week. Moreover, he wasn't suited to the high-pressure 1100m event but to his credit, he closed off well and will only improve off that effort. The form out of that race has since been proven with a subsequent winner, and that race rated highly relative to the day. The rise to 1300m is ideal, where he can find a more suitable rhythm, receives a gear change and maps to have all favours. He has strong form lines for this and can rate to win. Each-way.

NEWCASTLE – PROVINCIAL PICK: Race 5 # 4 – GUZUMPED

Profiles well for this event, and he gets multiple key factors in his favour. The three-year-old is racing consistently, and all key indicators point towards a peak performance stepping out to 2300m. He now has a strong platform, is on an upward rating spiral and is coming out of a fast-time race at Gosford last start. In addition, he maps well with the in-form Koby Jennings to ride, and the bigger track is ideal.

KEMPSEY – COUNTRY PICK: Race 2 # 3 – PRINCE OF POP

Resumed for his new trainer Jason Reilly at Grafton, and his run had hidden sectional merit. The lightly raced galloper got too far back throughout transit built through his gears and clocked one of the meeting's fastest final 200m sectionals. He is much more suited up in distance and can settle closer from the soft draw. Additionally, he receives key gear changes, including winkers, for the first time and represents value.
