ROSEHILL GARDENS – BEST BET: Race 10 # 3 – ROSELYN’S STAR

He finds a very winnable race and profiles well for this assignment. The gelding has been building towards a peak performance, and he was brave in defeat last start in what was a high-rating race. Further, he was checked/blocked for a run when the sprint went on, but once clear, he accelerated hard and went down fighting with the gap to third, confirming the quality. He ran a much-improved race on the dry ground and repeating that effort/figure will make him hard to hold out.

ROSEHILL GARDENS – NEXT BEST: Race 4 # 8 – MARHOONA

She returned in style when winning first-up, and all key indicators suggested she can only step off that effort. The filly had every chance stalking a slow tempo but always looked in control with a confident ride from Tommy Berry. Further, she moved well, going through the line full of energy, and her sectional profile suggests she can only improve with the rise in trip being ideal. She maps to have all favours and is well-suited under the race conditions.

ROSEHILL GARDENS – VALUE BET: Race 5 # 10 – AUTUMN KING

He’s a lightly raced improver with a solid platform and is ready to peak third-up, getting out to a more suitable trip. The three-year-old benefited from his debut experience at Scone before his effort had merit in his last start at Newcastle. Further, he had excuses and was outpaced up tempo before finding the line solidly, indicating he was looking for more ground in what was a very high-rating race relative to the day. He rises sharply in grade, and everything points to him being able to make the step, with the winkers going on for the first time.

PORT MACQUARIE SATURDAY – COUNTRY PICK: Race 2 # 8 – FAIZA STAR

She’s improved significantly this preparation and has run well-above market expectations. The mare has had excuses in all three runs this campaign, and her effort had merit last start. Further, she was posted wide albeit with cover but had to make a long-sustained sprint and never shirked her task to the line in a high-rating last section after adjustments. She maps to have all favours from an inside draw and is now at optimal fitness.
