The farmers will be out in force at Wagga’s huge Aggies Raceday on Saturday – regarded as one of Australia’s largest agriculture social events.
Among the racegoers will be this season’s ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’ TV stars Tom Davies and Georgie Lavery from Borambola (30km east of Wagga).
Joining them will be the previous season’s popular couples Daisy Lamb and Todd Melbourne, and Condobolin locals Sophie Trethowan and Dustin Waring.

The group will be enjoying premium hospitality in the trackside marquee as well as assisting with the Fashions on the Field presentations on the Front Lawn.
The Farmer Wants a Wife couples will be part of a massive day of entertainment including the return of the Fashions on the Field competition that offers a prize pool of more than $4,000.
“Daisy Lamb is returning for her second successive year and is looking forward to the day,” said Murrumbidgee Turf Club’s Marketing Manager, Nicola Baldry.
“It is a thrill to welcome so many racegoers on course to enjoy a premium raceday experience.
“Seeing so many young patrons on Aggies Day is fantastic and brings the course alive with an incredible afternoon of entertainment, racing and socialising.
“There will be no shortage of entertainment with Aaron Oldaker performing live in the WAC Marquee before Ballz n All, a popular Central West NSW band, takes centre stage outside the Champagne Bar after the last race.”
Daisy Lamb added: “Todd and I loved attending last year and we know this year will be even bigger!”
The 2025 star-studded judging panel includes country model and influencer Madeline Curr, Coolamon Boutique owner, Ruby Lucas and local milliner Dianne Barbour.
Tickets are on sale now via the MTC website with gate sales available, although racegoers are encouraged to pre-purchase tickets to avoid queues.
And MTC has commenced its search for two new ‘Faces of the Carnival’ who will become the official ambassadors for the 2026 Wagga Gold Cup.
“Successful applicants will take part in a range of race club functions and feature in a professional marketing photoshoot where they attend both days of the Wagga Gold Cup Carnival,” explained MTC’s CEO, Jason Ferrario.
“Applications are now open via the MTC website with the 2026 Faces of the Carnival announced at our Christmas Party Raceday on Saturday November 29.”
Meanwhile, a heap of buses will be heading to Bowra Hotel Bowraville Cup Day on Saturday.
Nambucca River Jockey Club is providing free buses from Valla Beach, Nambucca Heads, Stuarts Point, Scotts Head and Macksville.
There will be the usual Fashions on the Field with plenty of hospitality in the Sponsors Pavilion whereby tickets include admission, lunch and a private bar for the seven-race TAB Sky 2 program.
NRJC will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the re-opening of the racetrack and, like many community race clubs, the NRJC is run mainly by volunteers.
