Dylan Gibbons Snares Taree Rising Star Series Heat

Apprentice Dylan Gibbons has celebrated his first Rising Star Series win after taking out Heat 6 at Taree on Sunday (20th December).

Gibbons partnered with No Laughing Matter ($2.70 favourite) for trainer Kris Lees to secure the top points, greeting the judge ahead of Mikayla Weir on Oakfield Romance ($11) and Casey Waddell (A Million Dreams; $31).

Weir regains the Series lead now boasting 15 points, ahead of Chris Williams (13pts).

Gibbons joins Louise Day in equal 3rd position on the points ladder with each apprentice boasting have accumulated 10 points.

Armidale will host the final 2020 calendar year heat tomorrow (Tuesday 22nd December), heat 7, while the series will resume at Ballina after that on Sunday 3rd January.
