Celebrating 45 Years Of Renowned Gooree Cup

The prestigious 45th Gooree Cup is set to charge into Mudgee Racecourse on Saturday (23rd August) promising a day full of colour, excitement and as always, authentic country hospitality.

Scheduled the day after the Panthers vs Raiders NRL clash at Glen Willow, racegoers, locals and lovers of a great time are encouraged to make a weekend of it and enjoy the best of both sporting events whilst soaking up the beautiful Mudgee region and all it has to offer.

The annual Gooree Cup is a celebrated highlight in Mudgee and throughout the local and broader racing industry, showcasing premier country racing alongside renowned Gooree Park produce.

Adding to the fun and glamour of the day is the always-popular Fashions on the Field, featuring always stylish entrants and fabulous prizes for the winners.

"We are excited to once again be showcasing everything that Gooree Park has and continues to achieve in the racing industry alongside our wine and Wagyu produce at the 45th Gooree Cup in Mudgee," said Jeannette Tioseco, Managing Director of Gooree Park

“Our long standing relationship with Mudgee Race Club and the Gooree Cup, now in its 45th year, is something we are really proud of and it provides us with the perfect occasion to celebrate our connection with the local racing community, Mudgee Race Club and Gooree Park Wine Club members, in addition to locals and visitors alike ” added Ms Tioseco.

"The Gooree Cup is one of the region’s most anticipated events in our racing calendar,” said Tony Brown, Mudgee Race Club Chairman.

“It’s not just about the racing, it’s a true celebration of our time-honoured relationship with Gooree Park and the Cojuangco family and their outstanding role in the racing community, not only locally, but throughout the world.

“We’re excited to be hosting the 45th Gooree Cup the day after the Panthers vs Raiders game, welcoming both locals and visitors to Mudgee Racetrack for a memorable day.

"It’s such a great opportunity to enjoy everything that Gooree Park accomplishes - thoroughbred breeding, training and their award-winning wine and produce,” Tony added.

“This year we are also welcoming Royce Symmons as the Ambassador for the 45th Gooree Cup after he completes his 2025 Big Walk for Dementia Australia (10 days from Faulconbridge to Mudgee) at the Panthers game the night befor,” said Tony.

“We are proud to be further supporting his fundraising efforts with a huge raffle, which will be drawn at the end of the race meeting."
