Canberra Races On Friday Abandoned - Races Moved

After a track inspection at 4pm on Thursday, Racing NSW Stewards and Canberra Racing Club officials determined that after significant rainfall and 20-30mm of rain forecast for tomorrow, the track is unsuitable for racing.

As a consequence, the race meeting scheduled for Friday 7th October has been abandoned.

To acknowledge the strong support of Trainers, Owners and Sponsors for the TAB Tony Campbell Memorial Cup Race Day, the Club will transfer a number of races to future meetings.

The Club will reschedule the TAB Federal Tony Campbell Memorial Cup (1400m) and the Sky Racing Race Callers Cup (1000m) to Friday, 25 November 2022.

A Class 2 Handicap over 1400m will also be added to the Friday 21 October race meeting.

Canberra Racing Club Chief Executive, Darren Pearce said: “While we can’t control the weather, we will support our owners, trainers and partners with the rescheduling of tomorrow’s key races and the addition of races to future meetings.”
