Manning Valley Race Club Limited (MVRC) and Racing NSW are seeking applications to fill three (3) independent Director positions.

About Us

This is an exciting opportunity for interested applicants to become involved with the Manning Valley Race Club. Founded in 1831, the MVRC is one of the premier country racing and training facilities in NSW. It is located only minutes away from the Taree city centre and is ideally located for hosting numerous functions and events within its modern function areas.

As a leading club in the Mid North Coast Racing Association, MVRC hosts approximately 20 race meetings annually, producing around 900–1,100 starters per season.

The $100,000 Taree Gold Cup is a Big Dance qualifier event held in mid-October, making it an optimal lead-in race to qualify for the Big Dance which is held on the first Tuesday in November. The Manning Lightning Handicap, the Krambach Sprint and Krambach Cup are support races that contribute to a combined total of $370,000 in prizemoney returned to industry participants through the Taree Gold Cup Day.

The MVRC Board of Directors are responsible to oversee governance, strategic direction, policy implementation, and management of the MVRC.

About You

Manning Valley Race Club is seeking candidates who are committed in strengthening and shaping its future as a leading thoroughbred racing and training centre within country NSW.

People experienced and qualified in law, accounting, business management, commerce, construction, marketing and event management or other key business skills are encouraged to apply. Governance experience is highly recommended. While racing industry experience is advantageous, it is not essential.

Appointment Process

A Selection Panel, convened by Racing NSW, will review applications, shortlist candidates, and conduct interviews. Final appointments will be made by Racing NSW based on the Selection Panel’s
recommendations and the skills needed to complement existing Board members.

Special Conditions

It is important that members of the Board are free from any business or other relationship that could materially interfere (or could reasonably be perceived to materially interfere) with the independent exercise of that director’s judgment.

Applications are invited from candidates residing in the Mid-Coast local government areas (or who will at the time of appointment reside in the local government area).
