Opera Tickets On Song At Boorowa Picnics (Saturday)

The 'performing arts' were major attractions at last weekend's Boorowa picnic meeting with victories by Opera Tickets and Ballet Ticket in successive races.

Opera Tickets (Ricky Blewitt, $6) picked up vital points for the NSW Picnic Champion Series Final at Dubbo when a narrow winner of the Dunk Insurance Boorowa Picnic Cup (1700m) last Saturday.

The seven-year-old prevailed by a head from Deterge (Leandro Ribeiro, $5) with Cryfowl (Breanna Bourke, $3.40 favourite) more than a length away in third place.

Opera Tickets earned 10 points in the NSW Picnic Champion Series for the win and he has now moved into second place on 22 points behind Drummed Out (28 points).

Ballet Ticket (Leandro Ribeiro, $6) was an easy winner of the Thompson's Rural Supplies Maiden (1200m) defeating Winning Heart (Ricky Blewitt, $2.50 fav) by over four lengths.

A close third was Flash Brew ($3) ridden by Jody Hughes.

Picnic racing continues with Marthaguy picnics at Quambone this Saturday (8th May).
