Rewards For Most Successful Jockey & Trainer At Nowra (Sunday)

Shoalhaven City Turf Club is once again looking forward to a fantastic day of racing when they host the 2019 Country Motor Company Nowra Cup Showcase Raceday next Sunday (26th May).

It promises a great day of racing featuring the Nowra Cup, Belle of the South and the Country Maiden Showcase Plate, along with five other Showcase races, with the Club confident the day will be a success.

Once again the Club will be holding the Bede Murray Memorial Trophy and Nathan Berry Memorial Trophy for the most successful trainer and jockey respectively on this raceday.

Along with the trophy, the winners will receive $500 cash thanks to Carlton United Breweries.   This is an annual premiership held on this raceday to remember two legends of the racing industry.

"Bede Murray was a great supporter of Shoalhaven City Turf Club and Nathan Berry rode at Nowra as an apprentice so both have an affiliation with our Club which we like to acknowledge," said SCTC's CEO, Lynn Locke.

"Not only will racing be one of the main attractions, but this raceday is also the very popular Girls Day Out."

Fashions and fillies are aplenty with over $10,000 in prizes for the fashions on the field over five categories.

And all patrons attending will have the chance to win a $1000 travel voucher thanks to My Travel Expert Nowra and Viva Holidays.

"We always look forward to this raceday as it is great for the local community and attracts many visitors to the beautiful South Coast."

Gates open at 11am and a free bus will be running in the Nowra area.
