2022 Newhaven Park Country Championships Launches

Country racing in New South Wales will rise to another level this weekend with the commencement of the 2022 Newhaven Park Country Championships series that carries a total of $1.6 million in prizemoney.

Each of the Newhaven Park Country Championships races boasts $150,000 in prizemoney and they begin with a double-header this weekend, with Grafton (Northern Rivers) kicking off the series on Saturday (12 February) before Nowra races on Sunday (13 February).

Another double-header heralds the second week of the series with Wagga (Southern Districts) racing on Saturday (19 February) and Taree (Mid North Coast) the following day.

Then it’s the Central Districts turn with Mudgee holding its Country Championships Day on Sunday 27 February, the Hunter and North-West at Tamworth on Sunday 6 March, before the regional heats round out with the Western qualifier at Coonamble on Sunday 13 March.

The $50,000 Wild Card offers the final chance to qualify for the Country Championships Final and for the first occasion will be held at Scone Racecourse on Sunday 20 March.
