2018 NSW Country & Provincial Racing Award Winners

At the 2018 NSW Country and Provincial Racing Awards Dinner held on Friday evening, 28 September 2018 at Four Seasons Hotel, the winners of the various categories were announced and acknowledged for making a significant contribution to Country and Provincial racing.

The Country recipients of the Awards for 2018 are as follows:

  • Simon Nivison Special Achievement Award - the late Noel Leckie
  • Country Horse of the Year Award - The Monstar
  • Country TAB Race Club of the Year - Muswellbrook Race Club
  • Community Race Club of the Year - Narrandera Race Club
  • Outstanding Achievement Award - Shoalhaven City Turf Club
  • Outstanding Achievement Award - Coonamble Jockey Club
  • Country Trainer of the Year - Brett Cavanough
  • Country Jockey of the Year - Ben Looker
  • Country Apprentice Jockey of the Year - Cejay Graham
  • Country Approved Rider of the Year - Ricky Blewitt
  • The Provincial recipients of the Awards for 2018 are as follows:
  • Ted McCabe Provincial Recognition Award - Brian Judd
  • Provincial Horse of the Year - In Her Time
  • Provincial Trainer of the Year - James Cummings
  • Provincial Jockey of the Year - Brenton Avdulla
  • Provincial Apprentice Jockey of the Year - Jean Van Overmeire
  • All finalists and nominees, however, should be very proud of their efforts during the 2017/18 racing season which is deserving of this level of recognition.
