ATC Board Appoints Jamie Barkley As CEO

The Australian Turf Club Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Jamie Barkley as Chief Executive Officer of Australian Turf Club.

Mr Barkley is currently CEO of the Sydney Cricket Ground Trust, and has more than 24 years experience in sports administration and managing Club membership. He is an avid racing fan.

Australian Turf Club Chairman Laurie Macri said Mr Barkley was an outstanding candidate. “Our Board is delighted to welcome a CEO of the calibre and skill set of Jamie, who has left such a prestigious position with the SCG Trust to join the ATC.

“Jamie has over a long career built an outstanding record in sports administration, and also of looking after the best interests of Members. “We look forward to Jamie continuing to make Sydney racing and our Club amongst the best in Australia.”

Mr Barkley will commence his new role in early October. Mr Macri added: “The Board and I also acknowledge the fine work of James Heddo and Matt Galanos during their time as joint Acting CEOs.”

Mr Barkley said: “I am excited about the opportunity ahead, joining the ATC to further position Sydney racing as amongst the strongest in Australia.

“The ATC and its four Sydney racetracks are fantastic assets for Sydney, much like the SCG.

“I want to make sure all of New South Wales, including the ATC’s Members and partners get the most out of Sydney racing.

“I’m proud to lead a great team into the next chapter of racing’s future.”
